URRICULUM
VITAE
Born in 1970, in the last 15 years she lives and works in
Chania. She studied ceramics at the Ο.Α.Ε.D. school in
Kolymbari and later was trained in the traditional ceramic
techniques and earthenware jars of Crete. She also studied
free-hand sketch, painting, as well as the traditional art
of mosaic at the “Lifelong Learning” department of the
Chania Prefecture.
For three years she also took lessons on Byzantine Icon
Painting at the Ν.Ε.L.Ε. in Chania. Icons by Eleftheria
can be found in churches, as well as in private
collections in Greece, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Israel,
and the USA, among others.
EACHING
EXPERIENCE
Runs courses in Icon painting, Byzantine Copy and
Gilding (1996–until today).
Teaching in European programs of professional
training titled:
“Leonardo da Vinci – Restoration, Erection”, with theme
Icon painting – Byzantine copy, in the Centre of
Professional Development Rethimno, with German students
(1996, duration of 1 month) and with Italian students
(1997, duration 2 months).
Teaching in European programs of professional
training titled:
“Techniques of treatment of timber and furniture”, with
theme Restoration of icons – Documentation, in the K. E.
K. (Centre of Professional Training) Techical university
of Crete (1999, duration 54 hours).
Teaching in the Catholic Church – Holy Monastery of
Capuchins with theme: Icon painting – theory and
practice (1998 – 2001).
Run courses in art for children and adolescents, at
Tseraki’s Anastasia private art school “Ihohroma” (2001
up to 2003).
Teaching: Byzantine Copy – Icon painting – Gilding,
for adults at Tseraki’s Anastasia private art school
“Ihohroma” (2002 until today). Has exhibited icons
painted by the students in the Temenos Kjoytsoyk Hasan
(1-4 October 2004 and 6-8 September 2005).
Teaching Byzantine copy for the Department of
Education for Adults, Chania’s Prefecture (3 November-22
December 2005).
Teaching Byzantine copy for the Department of
Education for Adults, Chania’s Prefecture (27 Mars-14
June 2006). Has exhibited icons painted by the students
in Villa Xagorari Kissamos (21 June–25 June 2006).Has
exhibited icons painted by the students in the Holly
Monastery of St. George Karidi Apokoronas (30 June–8
July 2006).
